I posted this question(copy/pasted below) the other day on our local forum but didn't get any answers so thought I'd ask here...
I'm thinking about buying some bulk qty's of some Cerith snails, blue leg hermits(small?), peppermint shrimp, and a few emerald crabs as well as maybe a few other inverts and then selling them at the Frag Swap in April. My questions so far are what kind of logistics am I looking at here? Will they need heaters if room temp is 70? My super preliminary plan is to get them in a few days before the swap, weed out doa's(if any) and then sell them out of totes. No matter how I do it there will be some risk(makes it interesting) especially since I will have to pay retail price to begin with... At the moment I'm thinking prices would be $1 for hermits/snails and $5 for emeralds/Pepp shrimp. My guess is my biggest issue maybe be keeping ammonia down etc... IF I were to do it I would probably take pre-orders with a min of a $30 purchase but who knows.. maybe it's too much hassle/risk especially with me bringing up a frag tanks worth of frags and stuff. What you guys think???
Wouldn't do any astrea snails as they always seem to be a 50/50 shot when I've ordered them in the past...
Any help/info would be appreciated.
