Burnt Tips To Do?

I Burt the tips of my PC Rainbow colony. It's recovered and regained color, but, the tips are gone and covered in algae.

My inclination is to snip the dead tips off.

Is this advisable? Is there any advantage?

I would cut the dead off, but that's me. If you're nervous about doing it, nip one and see how it responds. Cutting them each slowly over time would probably have a beneficial recovery time, but overall should be fine assuming nothing else affects the coral's well being.

i have cut them off and i have let them grow back over time.
the problem with cutting the tip is that if you havent fixed the problem which burnt the tips to begin with, ive seen that it will just accelerate the dying and go straight down.

I've had succes either just nipping the tips off or just blowing the algae off them everyday or so. The nipping option seems to work quicker as fas as regrowth is concerned. Sometimes if it's a larger colony I've been known to nip off the whole branch and create another frag. Either way it's not a big deal and never had it affect the rest of the colony. Usually I just blow off the algae and let it regrow on its own. I manually dose and have only noticed some burnt tips when I either let the alk fall a little to low and bring it back up quickly or if a fish knocks one over onto another coral and one of them wins the little temporary war.
