My girlfriend and I booked a 10 day trip to Bali Indonesia this year. I of course want to check out the coral farms and do some diving while we are there.

But here is my real question, since the ban on indo corals has been lifted, would it be possible to buy coral from a retailer/vendor/supplier over there and ship them back to myself here in the states?

I am aware there may be issues with customs and I may need to fill out some paperwork and possibly pay fees/taxes/tariffs for the export/import, but I'm hoping someone may have better direction or experience with this, or if someone has a connection with a supplier over there.

If I have to buy coral in a wholesale quantity, I'd like to know ahead of time so I can get a larger frag tank started up. I'm willing to spend $1000-$3000 depending on what I can do.

Did you ever find an answer to this? As I am going next year and trying to do the same thing.
