Wait for a sponsor live sale. I scored about 6 nice frags for....$70, I think, though that doesn't include shipping, from Cherry Corals.

Watch the for-sale ads here by local reefers, too. You never know what sweet deal might be close enough not to have to get it shipped (which is really the most expensive part - it averages $50 or so for live animals, including corals)

Unique Corals asks less for shipping, about $28, but the pieces are not on the cheap end.

I prefer going to LFS, I no they look like good deals online. But when you get them the corals are amazingly small. And arnt as they look in the pics online, trust me I ordered from multiple sponsors on here. Was disappointed with all. Just my advice

I purchase most of my corals online and I have only been disappointed a couple of times. When I was disappointed, it was when I either did not read the description and jumped the gun or I did not research the feedback of the company I was ordering from.

Battle is a great spot and also a vendor on here. Adam is also one of the best people I have dealt with in this hobby.

I feel. Ad for this post. We have given names of "Where Not to Buy Corals". I think the question was "Where Online" could corals be purchased. Sorry Fishmaster818. There is some really good sponsors on this site. Look into a LFS and do research. I did purchase some frags off site. I was a bit disappointed at their size. But than I went to a site for frag packs, had great feedback so I purchased. Aqua SD. Good luck

I ordered for the first time on line from BluZoo Aquatics. couldn't be happier. they called me with my choice of holding the order or shipping to a Fed Ex holding facility due to low temps. I picked them up from Fed Ex. well packaged with lots of heat packs. corals were perfect and what I ordered. their prices are by size, and free shipping for 140.00 or more.

I've ordered from Live Aquaria and Joe Knows so far and had great results.
I also ordered from an EBay coral seller the constantly has nice items that I would definitely use again. They aren't a sponsor so I won't post their name but shot me a PM if you want to check them out

There are many good places to buy corals online, many of them are not cheap. Most corals, are not cheap. If you wanna shop online, go to the most reputable vendors, with the product you like the most. I wish it was as easy as saying, order form here. However, its not so simple. Some vendors have better zoas, some better acros, some better acans, etc., most have a great collection all around. Do a bit of research here on R2R and the great internet. Find an online vendor and research them on the forums. Most of the sponsors here on R2R are worthy of orders. I have ordered from many, and am rarely disappointed.

Brad: Thats quite the broad spectrum statement. If you saw photos, before your purchase, you knew what you were getting. How can you be surprised/disappointed with the size? If the product doesn't look like the pic, well then thats a whole other issue all together. I agree, some vendors get a bit aggressive with the PS, but most of the 'quality" vendors, have accurate pics and descriptions. And a small frag, does not necessarily mean a small price.

Agree completely on different venders "specializing" in certain things. So many times I would like to get everything from one place to save on shipping and it just doesn't seem to work out.

AquaSD, Cherry Corals, YourReef and Sexy Corals are the places I've dealt with thus far...I don't think I'll venture much outside this list.
