Decided to go with a slightly bigger skimmer for my current bioload. I switched it out last night and so far in 24 hours im quite impressed. I originally had the bubble magus curve 7. It took forever to break in but did pretty good once it did. I replaced it with a buble magus curve D9 (love bubble magus btw). It has been skimming within 3 hours of startup. It may not be the darkest nastiest stuff but its close to it and its rated for much more which is better for my biolaod.
On another note im pretty sure ive figured out the major problem with keeping sps in my tank. Some may disagree but its the one thing that was a huge gamechanger for me. I talked to someone recently about have too much flow and decided to turn down my gyres which were at %90 opposite pulse each to %30 pulse and since its been close to a month with a green birds nest and 1 acro doing very well. Before ALL sps were dying miserably with rtn within a week. This may or may not be the solution but it was definitely a major one. Pics will be included
