Calibrating Apex Temp probe

So I have a digital cooking thermometer, I tested calibration using ice water and boiling water and it's about .2 deg F off on both ends so I figure it's pretty accurate. So if I know it's accurate at each end of the scale, is there any reason to spend the money on a traceable thermometer?
 
I figured, just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy in my thought process. Unbelievable just how far off some of these aquarium thermos are...
