Hi y’all,

Starting a small reef tank for my daughter and was told R2R is the best place to ask for advice and share with.

I am still building the system. So far I have the sump, stand, and skimmer setup. Next projects are the tank, plumbing, lights etc.

I’m a design major at UCLA, and took some time to design a simple system. Also planning on designing a couple components for the controller and hardware. I would like everything to look like it was meant to be there.

I’m still debating between a natural reefscape or a 3D printed scene, something completely abstract. I’m a Star Wars and comic fan. That being said, it can go in all directions. I will however use a lot of biological filtration in the sump, in combination with Chem and Mech

DT dims: 48x24x22
ST dims: 46x22x16

Equipment: (RP) Reef Octopus Varios6, 4 Kessil AP700’s, Vertex Alpha 300, and still adding on to the build.

Sweet! Wish my parents designed aquariums for me as a child.

How old is your daughter? Personally I would like a natural reefscape but I can see a younger child attraction to abstract or Star Wars theme.
