Can a clam be stung by a chalice?

I made a pretty poor choice for placement on my encrusting chalice that has taken up a fair amount of prime real estate. I've relocated some SPS colonies/frags to avoid them getting stung by sweepers. I'm hoping to place a few clams near this place and am worried about 1) the chalice encrusting near and stinging the foot and 2) the sweepers stinging the mantle. Any thoughts?

Don't gamble with your clam, keep it away from sweepers!!!
