So I have four gonis, and three of them are doing really well as they have for the longest time now, but the two most recent ones I acquired were placed in the wrong spots with not enough light or flow because I wanted to keep them all together, and I didn’t move them because I thought the reason for the struggle was because there was sponge growing on their skeletons. One of them, the short tentacle one, is completely dead. It’s been that way for a while but I just haven’t taken it out. The other one is on the path to recovery because I moved it to a much higher spot, and I plan on doing a second goni garden along this back ridge:
Needless to say I love gonis lol.
I don’t plan on moving my larger three though because as they say, don’t fix what’s not broken.
(They’re larger than pictured, the lights are just now ramping up for the day.)
I already have one blasto, but it’s a more basic one (I think super man).
However, my job (reef focused LFS) just got some REALLY nice high end blastos, and I want one of them so bad. But my concern is if it’ll be okay so close to my spongebob goni. I don’t think it’d be an issue starting out, but as they both grow I don’t wanna run into issues as I don’t have many other spots for the blasto. There’s a couple other places I could move it to eventually, but I’m not sure that those spots won’t be taken by something else when that time comes. Here’s the two possible spots I’m thinking of featuring the dead short tentacle goni in one of them:
I’ve read mixed things on if blastos are aggressive, so does anyone have input on this?
Sorry this is such a long drawn out post to read, but if you got through it all I greatly appreciate that you did :)
