Can I add a second clown?

Tank is a 54 corner. Fish are yellow tang, ocellaris, flametail blennie, two green chromis, red mandarin, blue star leopard wrasse, wheeler's shrimp goby. I've had the ocellaris for almost two years now. I had two but the smaller one vanished from my BC14 one week before the move to the current tank. Will my clown allow another ocellaris to be brought in? It isn't hosting anything permanently. It tries to host the red mushrooms occasionally. I don't know if that makes a difference or not. I really want to add one or two more fish since the blennie hides in his hole most of the time and is barely visible, the goby only comes out for feeding, and the mandarin is only sporatically out front. I was thinking of adding one more ocellaris and hoping they pair up, then trying to get ahold of a red elongated dottyback. LiveAquaria has them under "new marine fish," but I would most likely try to get it through the pet store I just started working part time at. I have to drive an hour and a half to the nearest marine store, so I figured I'd go and turn my local SW dept into someplace I'd want to shop at.

Can I add a second ocellaris or is ther something else you'd recommend? Black clown maybe?

Pics aren't the best, taken with my HTC Hero. I'd like to find a way to make my clown host either the frogspawn or open brain, but how do you make a clown host something? Wish in one hand...

You could add another clown, just makes sure it is smaller. They will fight a little, but will accept each other. When it comes to hosting, they host what they want to. Can't really make them host. It took my ocellaris 6 months to find the BTA.

I went through the same thing. The bigger clown was the female, so you need to make sure you add a jouvi, because if you add a female, bad juju will happen. All clownfish are born male, so if you add a young one, there is a good chance it will be male. The female will terrorize the newbie all night long, don't panic, this will die down in a day or so, but just warning you, it will look horrific for a bit. I had two black oscillaris, one died and I added a regular false perc (orange oscillaris) and now the two are inseperable ebony and orangey, living together in perfect harmony!
BTW, It took less than 5 minutes for my clowns to get in my bta when I added it. Sort of shocked me.

I also found myself in the same situation a year ago. I added a Juvenile Black Ocellaris and they almost instantly became best friends (that pick at each other in there clownfish way).

i have seen big and older clowns take to a new clown instantly. almost like they are soo happy to have a mate. other times i seen the female tear the juvi to death. to be on the safe side. get a breeder net and hang it in your tank and put the clown in there for a few days to get the female to get used him and let him loose.
