I have a 30 gallon tank that I am setting up but I can't get any Fritz turbo start or Dr Tim's one and only would I be able to support a pair of clown fish with live rock and bio media from my 75 gallon display tank that has been up and running for years?

Should work ok. How much live rock will you be able to relocate. The biological filter already on the rock just needs to be large enough to handle any food you are adding after the transfer. If you use a 1/2 pound of rock then I wouldn't feed much if at all for the first week but if you are bringing over 10 pounds of rock or more I would think that light feeding every other day for the first couple of weeks wouldn't risk elevated ammonia but you might make the fish hungry? With enough rock you shouldn't have to worry, but too little rock might be a stretch.

if you are trying to start from a clean scratch to get rid of any issues in the 75, i wouldnt do that. BUT If it is just a spare tank than 100% safe transfering over rock or bio media to the new tank for an instant cycle (not really a cycle as everything has cycled. I would also fill the new tank with water from the old one if you are doing that

My plan is to take 30 ish ponds from my display it has like a 100 so I'm not worried about it and probably about a solid pound of bio rings and balls so based on what you guys are saying it should be just fine

I ended up with 2 chromis my lfs hasn't had any clowns except ridiculously expensive designer clownfish upwards of 350 a pair in 3 months. I put about 30 pounds of dry rock in and my ammonia is still 0 so I think it worked out alright.

If the rock is aged and cured as your was, it is perfectly fine to do this. As you found out. I do this a ton. I do not move over new sand or water, just add the rock, new sand if wanted and all new water and good to go. I do this with full clean outs too. No issues of cycling.
Now, the chromis may kill each other eventually, but no cycle. :)

That is some bs from them, my LFS gets em in all the time, straight from sources like big breeders a clown pair shudnt cost nearly that much, even if designer. Realistically $15 for a occ $20-25 for perc and 60-100 for designer is usually what i see per fish.
Nice easy setup youve got going. I really want a huge tank one day with like 50 chromis or other small shoaling fish
