How come?I wouldn’t
How would I clean it with the rodi?I would use distilled or RODI water with 0 TDS—assuming all the safety parameters of not having anything plugged in, etc. I would then thoroughly dry the unit and put it in a container with bulk desiccant beads. I have cleaned many marine electronics that had accidental ocean water exposure.
Q Tips and a delicate hand. There's no guarantee you didn't pop resistors or capacitors when it hit the water but getting all of the salt off of the board will really be the first step to finding out.How would I clean it with the rodi?
Could be salt. Could be another type of corrosion. If that was salt from the recent tank bath, I would expect it to be more evenly distributed over the entire board.
Mineral oil would leave a conductive residue that could possibly short out what you have and possibly cause more damage and hopefully doesn’t cause harm to youHow come?
This or you can buy electronic cleaner.Isopropyl alcohol is the standard for cleaning circuit boards. It's non-conductive and highly efficient at dissolving most contaminants. I'm not sure how well it does with Sodium Deposits, but it's very good at most contamination removal.
