Just curious it's all nacl so couldnt I just use reef salt for a bath instead of other bath salts would that be acceptable and safe

I wouldn't. Have you ever been in the ocean? It will dry out your skin and hair. I usually have to shave my head after a week of diving. That being said, I'm sure it wouldn't cause any side affects to your health, but I'm not a doctor nor a scientist.

It is definitely not all NaCl. I doubt it would be harmful but it's just not meant for that purpose, I wouldn't.

See now I used a small amount just now lol no skin irritation. I have terribly oily skin and very bad acne. I currently live in Wisconsin but I visit Florida where my parents live at least once a year for about 2-3 weeks. I always go swimming in the ocean daily while I'm down there within a week my skin breaks out it crazy white heads. Then a few days later my skin is almost crystal clear and my acne rapidly fades. I also stayed for 3 months one year and with the same daily routine my skin was just amazing. After I came back to Wisconsin within 2 weeks my skin began to break out again. So my main question should be is there anything harmful in reef salt. When I clean my tank my hands become very soft. I looked all over google for an answer and found nothing lol. So maybe someone looking for similar information will find this.

If fish can live in it I'd think it would be ok to use. It would be expensive though.

Reef salt basically just makes ocean water, which is obviously fine to swim in. It won't have any adverse effects, but I also can't vouch for its efficacy at anything except keeping marine organisms alive.

What's in bath salt, anyway? Just NaCl and scents? That's something that's hard to google for since when you type in "bath salt" you find out about something else.
It is hard to google for lol. But I worded it many ways. The way I figure it it's mostly NaCl and minerals calcium magnesium and alkalinity to mimic the ocean. But I thought I'd get some other opinions.

I also only used 2 cups for a bath. That is way below 1.025. I think next time I will use enough to get 1.025 and see how it goes lol I'll be the Guinea pig and get back to you guys.

Most bathtubs are about 30 gallons. Making 30 gallons of 1.025 water will be quite expensive, probably about $10 per bath at least assuming you use the cheapest possible salt.

I have a family member with eczema, always clears up in FL but it's related to the humidity not saltwater. But acne and eczema are very different and based on what I know about them I would guess it's the salt that's helping you but can't be sure. Anyway I have seen "Dead Sea Salts" intended for bath use. Maybe there are regular sea salts lol I have not looked. I think the dead sea is less nacl, so you could just add some to customize I suppose.

Ive been bathing in coral pro salt for about 6 months on and off. I havent grown gills yet so I think its okay.

Why?

IMO, I'd avoid doing this out of concern for what bacteria, viruses, etc. might be in it.

No one is making it to avoid such pathogens.

If he’s Scrooge McDucking it in dry salt I doubt there is anything in it. I’m frankly more concerned with the thread necromancy.

I usually use epsom salts but when Im out; ill use dry reef salt. Screwit. Muscles are always sore, I could do with the elevated magnesium anyways.

Are there all that many pathogens for humans that can survive in a bucket of dry salt?

I somewhat doubt that makers of normal bathing bath salts treat them for pathogens

There’s no bacteria in dry sea salt . To me it should be beneficial as it actually contains all major and minor elements found in the sea and also your body. Plus if you work it out you can get a much better price buying 25kg bucket of marine salt than Epsom salts most Epsom salt is cheap magnesium chloride. And the Dead Sea stuff is better but only contains 3 elements not 44 like the ocean. I’m pretty sure it’s obvious these days with all the patches of various kinds we apply to skin for medicinal purposes like nicotine , sleep , energy etc that the elements in water we bath in is absorbed through the skin. Chlorine in water is absorbed through the skin too. So for me I’d be trying to stick to how nature intended it. You can either try the dehydrated ocean water or synthetic which may have less contamination. Can’t possibly do harm if it’s safe for fish to breathe in plus we’re talking having the salinity 10 times lower. If you consider Epsom salts are 2-4cups per bath and work as intended.
