Can I use the water over???

I am pulling out my rock and scraping the sides of the glass to remove all the bubble algae and aiptizia. The rocks are going to dry out and than powerwash the dead crap off. I know I'm losing all my corlaline algae and bacteria, but I don't know any other way to get rid of this stuff. My question is this, can I reuse the water or is it no good??

If you know a better way to get bubble algea off, please tell me. This starts tomorrow =^<

Urchin?? Don't they bulldoze your corals though?

I want to remove my sand too. Should I remove the rocks, take out sand(which is not a deep sanded, maybe 1"), scrap off as much bubble algae as possible, place rock back in and all done? I wonder if this is gonna stree out the fish and corals? I do have three chromosome gonna rake out when instant this. Should I just drain the tank? Or remove the sand with the water in it? I'm replacing the sand with green star poylps. I think that gonna look cool!! The main reason I'm removing the sand is because inhale two tunze 6100's in now and adding 6400gph more on powerheads. I will never keep the sand down. I'm also adding about 25 lbs more in rock

Blue tuxedo urchins are best for reefs, imo

Small,short spines, neat color to look at..i kept one in my 75 gal mixed reef with no problems. But if certain corals were not balanced he might knock them over

Yes. I would not reuse it.

TO answer your question,it is because of the spores.They will just creat new ones shortly after,salt isnt that expensive,just get some new salt and make some new water.

What about moving the sand. Should I drain the tank? Will my two tangs freak out and stress? Will the water quality go to poop while removing the sand? Should I just drain it than remove the sand?

I think it will go to crap. Drain it then take the sand out, that's how I did it for my upgrade. Your tangs will prob freak out, not much you can do though.

I would take every thing out first off,the tangs will be fine,just treat them well.

Clean the sand really good in a bucket of salt water,place it back in tank with new water and rocks,get a matrix crab to get the bubble alage that comes back under control and watch this video:

I have used emerald crabs before to remove bubble algae, but they seem to be hit and miss. One I had ate coralline algae, can ya believe it ? It was picking rocks clean. Another one just wouldn't touch the bubble algae, but a third crab ate it up. Good Luck with everything.

before you do all that get like six or seven peppermint shrimp and shut all the lights off for three weeks while usingg algae magic as directed. if that doesnt work then clean, bleach, rinse and start over

alittle confused here...if ur ripping everything apart and killing off the LR by drying it all out and power washing it (i presume with chlorine filled tap water) and removing the LS, I am presuming that ur starting all over since you'll be killing off all the biologically benefical bacteria...if that is the case then what r u doing with ur corals?.... where r they going since your going to be recycling the tank by doing so....

I have a 8 x 2 x 12 frag tank I'm moving everything in.

Ok so what I'm going to do is transfer all fish and corals to frag tank. Then drain main system, dry out, scrap back and side of tank. Take out sand. Get a buffer between rock and bottom of glass. Build back up.

I had great luck with my emeralds so far, 2 for 2 as far as eating valonia. After thats gone, they just scavenge and keep the tank clean...imo a must for any tank.

my emeralds never ate bubble algae . My purple tang ate it like crazy.
