Hello we’ve ran into an issue of not being able to keep hammer corals. we are able to keep torches (4-5) different kinds and all multiple head and we have a fox coral I’ve had since last Valentine’s Day last test showed all at 7.8 which is right since we vary from 7.8-8.4 range nitrates are high at 60 but we’ve had the same torches close to 150 po4 is .03-.06 and no issues so I’m wondering if it’s not more of bacteria thing or something. I do my water changes and I carbon dose vodka system is 300 litters almost any coral we get is aquacultured and our tank is around a year old now as always thank you

Ps i was told something’s don’t do great in certain systems is this maybe one of these cases as always thank you

There is quite a bit of difference in hammers vs torches flow and lighting are the biggest factors. Torches can handle both in higher volumes than hammers. Hows the flow? Any idea the par? As for basic water chemistry they are pretty close and can handle a wide verity of parameter but both like slightly elevated nitrate and phosphate along with higher mag.

3’ 75g with two mp40s they are on 15% on reef crest mode and then a y at the return nozzle par is 250ish I’ve tried to put them in a lower light area with my mushrooms and they still wether away

Are they swaying aggressively? a little movement is ok but to much and they will retract. How low is the par on shrooms? Somewhere in the 150-200 would be max I would try.

No they arnt I was told like a flag flying in a gentle wind but not a hurricane and mushrooms are 70-120par

Did they extend at all? How long did they look ok? Its hard to visualize the flag thing but it sounds a bit much. More like the flag would be a little limp imo. The 120 would probably be the lowest I would try.
