I have had coraline in my tank for quite some time (the pinkish stuff) but over the last few months this fluffy, magenta ish looking algae has popped up on my rockwork. It doesn't appear to be bothering anything but since I am collecting all kinds of hitchhiker specimens to seed my new tank I would like to know what it might be. Thanks

I don't think it its cyano looks to be some form of red turf algae. A turbo snail on that rock should mow through it.
it's on most rocks in my aquarium and there are snails. I don't really have a problem with it it's kind of pretty unless it turns into a nuissance
