My local petco had this frogpsawn for $15. It belonged to someone at the store who got rid of their saltwater tank, its several heads but had just come in today and hadn’t opened. Decided to take a chance..it’s been in the tank 1 hour so far. Is it too far gone?

That looks like a lot of exposed skeleton 😬
I thought that too, but figured maybe there’s a chance since there’s still something in there at the top. Seems it was doing great in the persons tank before they got rid of it - could it be not saveable already ?

I’m not sure, maybe. Try posting some more photos under white light and let others chime in.

White lights are needed for some pics - hard to see the flesh band.

Low Flow - maybe look at doing a dip with some CIES (coral infection elimination), be prepared to cut some heads off that are completely gone.

I don’t believe there is any flesh band

Very hard to tell from the current picture. Please take another under white light and tag me.

On initial inspection, a couple heads do look like they can be saved. Stable parameters and low flow for now. Keep on sand bed also.

From what I can also tell the remaining heads may recede and die off due to stress potentially.

For $15 it’s a chance I would have taken too.

What are your current nitrate levels?

Oh wow! Yes there’s a lot of hope for that! Keep stable water and I bet all of those heads will survive.

I personally wouldn’t do anything to stress it and keep watching it over the next couple days.

I think it’ll do good looking at it.

Killer deal for $15!

Just watch for brown jelly on the 3 that are quite receded towards the bottom of the picture, and the tiny one underneath on the left
You were correct - had to suction those right out and the whole thing/brown jelly came.
