I have a large colony of galaxia coral that is heavily damaged. How likely would the damaged areas be to come back given alot of TLC? Could I graft healthy frags from the same coral on the damaged areas? Could the dead polyps come back on their own?

There’s a chance if you have the patience. Things like galaxia and torches are really slow growing but if the issue can be figured out it would be worth saving.

I often forget to ask, do you know what caused the damage?
If it was a pest and they are all gone. It should make a healthy return.
If it was water conditions and that was corrected, a healthy return.
The dead polyps are dead. The healthy polyps will spread and form new ones.
You may need to do target feeding and all should be fine.

I never kept a galaxea because of the sweepers and aggression of those corals.

Root causes include Coolia Dinos, very low lighting and chemistry swings. Basically my reaction to the Dino issue had compounded the problems. I've moved out all of my coral at this point and will focus on recovering from my mistakes for the next year. This is a very old colony (12+ years) and I should have taken action a lot sooner.

Any living mouth on the polyps can grow back. At least, I hear they are a very tough coral. A lot of it looks healthy and strong. I don't know galaxy growth rate.
How often do you feed it? You can feed it up to 2 times a week to help it along.

I don't feed it but I think I'll start. I'll dedicate a 40 breeder to just this coral so I can focus on it.

Different species, but had a green slimer acro spend an afternoon on a sunset monti, thanks to tuxedo urchin.
One side of the slimer was completely white and no visible polyps.
Six weeks later, all green again.
Do not underestimate the corals regeneration, assuming the damaging cause is gone.

I'm amazed how tough these things are. Will be interesting to see what happens. Ill post pics for sure

I would love to see it recover. I think they are beautiful. But, I am affraid they would kill all my corals. I have heard of people using them to kill aiptasia pests.
12 inch sweepers? no thanks.
