Can this Goni make a recovery?

This Goni was unfortunately hit by disease. It lost a lot of its polyps, I had to make a last ditch attempt surgery to pretty much save it.

It’s been pretty miserable for the last month, but I’m just wondering if the polyps can ever grow back in those empty holes or if it’s just a goner now?

I didn’t spot feed it when I first got it, was told it would pull nutrients or light would be enough. Boy was I wrong after researching more.
My fault.

I can spot feed it now but worry it will stress it more in its current situation? I have mysis

Likely Needs antibiotics asap. I’ve saved all of mine treating with Ciprofloxacin and or amoxicillin

Hi. The "disease" you described. Was it like an area of browning that spread along the skeletal wall, killing polyps that it reached? If so, this likely has nothing to do with the coral not being fed. It's a bacterial infection.

What surgery did you perform?

I think there is a chance for the remaining polyps to survive. What are your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels?

The polyps are alive, but it's hurtin. You should def. take some precautions and get a dip going, possible meds for infection due to polyp die off.

Usual BJD for LPS. There’s tons of info about treating this with antibiotics. Fragging usually doesn’t help at least not long term, treatment is usually very succesfully, after treatment mine have all recovered p, tissue has grown back, and they’re triple in size now after a year.

Check this out. Goniopora BJD similar. Recommend Cipro at at 0.125 mg / L, dose every 2 day for a total of 3 doses.
