Hey all,

Bought this for my freshwater planted tank and never used it. Can this be used for saltwater?

It should work, just make sure it's calibrated obviously.
It's also probably a good idea to compare it to another ph test kit.
I've had a bad experience with an uncalibrated "yellow" ph tester

Awesome thanks!

The color on my Red Sea Ph test doesn't compare to any color on their color chart. So, I was going to try this and an API test and compare results...

If the pen ends up working it would make my life a lot easier!

I had exact same one. I did 2 point calibration but it read kalk solution lower than tap water. In garbage it went. [all the readings were always around 7.7pH no matter what I was testing]. Hopefully yours will work better.

I bought one of those when I first started, thing was basically useless after a few weeks. If you calibrate it then use it then test the calibration solutions again they solutions should be accurate. Then you know your reading is accurate.
