Can you eat citric acid ?

My other hobby is learning to make a good espresso. A coffee guy is recommending I mix 2 grams citric acid in 150ml of water. This is done to learn and distinguish sour vs bitter. When looking at the citric acid I have it says aquarium use only but it’s pure citric acid. The FDA says citric acid is generally safe. I’m confused and I know this is a weird question lol. Is all citric acid not the same ?

The citric acid I purchase is "Food Grade" and yes, it's used in some recipes.

Citric acid is also used for canning veggies/fruits. So that version for canning is edible, but not sure if the strength is different with what you have.

While the BRS citric acid and that used as a food additive may be exactly the same... one goes through a costly certification process and the other does not. It is a difference in cost and you can't be sure that the BRS product is not contaminated somehow.

This makes a lot of sense. I will order some food grade then.

That makes sense. I feel the strength would be the same but the purity is probably different or unknown if it isn’t food grade.

It's probably a legal thing where BRS could label it as "food safe" if they received the proper certification from the FDA, but they probably didn't because why would they and just went with the generic "fish use only" cover all.

Citric acid is generally in fruits like orange, lemon limes, so yes you could eat daily. however concentrate of this is multiple of these grounded down to formulate this powder so I would definitely not eat it, 1 orange is great, a TSP of this powder might be equivalent to 100 oranges.
Check dosage from pictures you provided as it may require watering down
