I recently got a Biota Aiptasia Eating Filefish and he immediately went after a few of my zoas. I would like to be able to keep him if possible as he is a family favorite at this point, but I have had to cover my zoas with a container so that he does not nip at them (all of the colonies are really small, and he seems to take the most interest in orange and blue ones). I read somewhere that sometimes coral eating behavior comes from a lack of greens in the diet, so I have tried to increase the amount of nori I feed my tank and have also started adding Reef Masstick to feed, which the filefish does eat. Is there any way to essentially "train" a fish out of nipping/eating corals?

Nope, if it’s a part of its natural diet, no chance.

As with any fish, if they eat coral as part of their natural diet, they will never stop, it’s in their dna, until evolution changes them.

If its eating zoas it wont stop. Either rid if the filefish or bye bye zoas.
The zoas are not gonna make it . If he is eating the zoas now he will continue to consume them until they are gone. Even if you run him off when you catch him , he will still eat them.
