I snagged this skimmer a while ago used and was considering throwing it on a 40 breeder I was going to set up but I can't find any information on it online. Their website only has info on their newer models and google is failing me. Anybody know about this skimmer? Ideal water height? Is it going to even work on a tank this size? I think it'll be big but is it too big?

I used one on my old 45, I THINK it was in 8-9 inches. it should work fine for your 40, but it looks like you are missing the silencer. I've seen people made them out of old RX bottles, or you can probably order one from SCA. I have this booklet still, but I remember it came with very little instructions.

Is this the same thing as the 301? I'm seeing a lot of information about that one but very little when I search "SC S-150"

Oh you are right, yours looks like the pump is internal. Sorry, I didn't see that at first. I would say your best bet is contacting SCA so they can give you the specs. They always provided great customer service anytime I had to contact them. while your at it mention those missing pieces;)
