Cant get a bubble magus qq1 to prime by covering the hole

I did try primeing it like the video but it just dosent want to prime for me

It does nothing until primed it tries sucking up water but cant for some reason

How long are you waiting? The video I just watched showed about a 30 second delay once he put his finger on the hole, after a delay, then the water slowly started to rise.
