I purchased the apex 2016 and can't get the salinity probe to calibrate. I keep getting the error failure. Is there a trick to programming the probe? Thanks

A couple. First, leave it wet in the sump or wherever for at least 24 hours before calibrating. Then, do manual calibration, not automatic. For the first step, make sure that the probe is blotted dry, but not bone dry; for example, don't blow it out with compressed gas. For the second step, make sure that the 53 mS standard is at tank temperature, not room temperature. Give the calibrator enough time to stabilize the reading here, at least a couple of minutes. Swish the probe in the standard a couple of times and see if the number changes before moving on. Oh and I would do the calibration from Fusion in a PC or Mac web browser rather than from a mobile device.

If none of this works, you might have a bad probe. I think it's pretty uncommon though.
