After sudden death of three of my favorite fish i had great help fand advise from Jay Hemdal diagnose this being flukes. Did the medical treatment for 16 days and turned all the filters off( skimmer, carbo, gfo, socks). The only filter running was my rollermat. A couple of water changes during treatment.
All fish are healthy!

Tried turning my skimmer back on but I'm having zero luck tuning it in.
Used to run at around 50% water valve closure and about 50% air restriction.
No matter how i dial... it always overflows or produces a vast amount of microbubbles when i use more air restriction. They escape the water exit tube and end up in my tank.

I could use some pragmatic advice.

The skimmer is a Somatic 120s
Stands in about 8.5" of sump. (upper end of spex but i do not have any headroom to pull it out more)
As i stated before, the skimmer was running fine before its vacation. Did a great job.

Here are some videos of this behaviour:

100% valve open, no air restriction
100% Water

50% valve open, no air restriction
50% Water

0% valve open, no air restriction
0% Water

100% Valve open, air restricted
100% valve open, air restrictions

Any ideas?

IMO....assuming all medication is no longer in your ater column,
1) check water level is where it needs to be
2) It needs to "break-in" again.....its been off for 16 days....I would let it run its course

Could the treatment be causing that to boil over?
If it ran right before, it should run right again, unless som3thing is affecting water tension.

Mine does that too, but just for under 30 minutes, then she settles.

Just run it as dry as you can letting it take out whatever it is thats triggering it into an empty bucket. You'll probably need a couple gallons of fresh saltwater water ready to replenish what it takes out.

This has happened to me in the past after I medicated my tank. What I had to do was raise my skimmer higher until I was getting normal skim overflow then gradually lower it back when the cup stops filling up until you are back in the old depth of water. you will be emptying that skimmer cup a bunch until the medication and organics are out of the water
