Apparently, Kamihata (the company that produces the Hikari brand food) said these hybrids are a rare occurrence in captivity too, and only come from correct timing, when their Multibar and Venusta pairs are spawning at the same time and in close proximity. In my opinion, leave these hybrids to nature.
Where is this hybrid possible in nature? The only places are Ryukyus and northern Philippines. Multibar has a widespread distribution, but northern Philippines would be the southern limit for Venusta.

@albano The Paracentropyge hybrids. They’re meant to be a rare occurrence, a result of barely overlapping ranges, maybe specific depths, and once in a blue moon when a pair or harem of each is spawning in close proximity. By being able to “mass produce” them, I just think it loses a bit of that appeal. Just me though, don’t mean to dismiss someone else.
Like, you sort of see this with the “Tigerpyge” that Bali Aquarich is breeding. What was once a special fish, is now being commercialized, but I have the quotation marks because the Lemonpeel variant used for their hybrids is (likely) the Central / South Pacific variant (broodstock most likely from Fiji) with the blue eye rings, while the actual, “authentic” (whatever that means) hybrid is found only in a very limited range in Australian offshore islands, and is a result of the Eibli mating with the “Cocopeel”, which has a blue iris and is very rarely, if ever imported into the trade and has a much higher $$ than the common Pacific Lemonpeel (which is now, relatively common captive bred and not too pricey).
I guess, I’m just a sucker for that “part of nature”. But hey, I mean, the fact that such a thing is happening, in the bigger context of captive breeding, is still good to have.
