I just picked up an angler and was curious what advise you can give me. I was already told to make sure not to take them out of the water since they can get air in their stomachs and it can kill them. He eating silversides from a stick and has been in a tank for a month before I picked him up. Can I feed him ghost shrimp? Do they eat only at night? The tank I was thinking about putting him in is my frag tank which is 24 long/24 wide/12 high.

Any info is appreciated, thanks!

Did you attach the food to a stick to wave it or just drop it in the tank? I don't have actinic so can I feed him with the lights on? Or only when its darker?

LiveAquaria sells saltwater feeder shrimp so could I buy 100 of them and just keep them in the tank? If I keep him in my frag tank he'll be the only fish in there.

I kept several anglers for years. While they will certainly go after ghost shrimp, they are not very good nutrition wise. You either need to feed him frozen food or if you plan on feeding him ghost shrimp all the time you will need to gut load them first. Just my suggestion.

What about actual salt water feeder shrimp? Is it ok to feed him small fish as well?
