I just picked up 2-20lbs boxes of this stuff at ridiculous price from a LFS that was moving locations. Anyone have any experience with this stuff? Its pretty new only about a year old but would like some reviews from people that are using it.

What are you concerns, it's basicly aragonitic base rock that's supposedly seeded with spores of bacteria... to me, it will work the same as clean dry-rock and a bacterial kickstarter... should be fine to use, it will look nice from the second you add it to your tank as it's painted to look like coralline algae (personally prefer the real stuff over paint).

No concerns really, just not a lot of info out on this product yet. Only concern I may have is the coating that they apply and it leaching anything into the tank. Stuff looks great, its pretty heavy and seems porous.

I had about 20lbs in my last tank and just added an additional 25lbs to a new build, so I have about 45lbs of it and I have no problem with it. The 20lbs was in my last tank for a year.

Most of the paints that are used are either clear coated (sealed) with epoxy finishes, or epoxy tinted paint and are normally considered to be safe.

any abnormal algae growth on those compaired to other natural rock in your system?
