I've got a large orange carpet lobo. I've had it for 2 months. It's always had a beautiful orange color. Yesterday I noticed random tips are starting to turn white. Some only the top half are turning white. Can anyone tell me if they know the cause or experienced this? All params are normal. Lighting schedule hasn't changed. I have an ai sol. I've tried googling but I couldn't find much info on this particular lobo

I'm not familiar with carpet lobos but I had a Lobophyllia that had white tips on it under my leds. It's probably getting a lot of light from your AI SOLs. You could move it to a lower light area and see if it changes back.

I was wondering if it may be some sort of bleaching. Is this even considered "bleaching"? THe weird thing is right next to it I have a candy cane coral and Closed brain, as well as a couple of frogspawn. wouldn't the others be showing similar signs if it were indeed bleaaching?

I wouldn't consider it bleaching. Just changing colors a bit. Mine kept it's color but the raised bumps turned white.

That's EXACTLY what mine is doing. I've been reading a lot of people with various LED rigs are experiencing the same thing. especially with SPS. Noone can seem to figure out the cause, or cure to solve this problem besides reverting back to metal hallides or T5's, which I refuse to do! I spent a pretty penny on my current light fixture. When you moved your lobo back did you see it's color revert back to it's original color?

It never bleached or changed colors any more under the leds. I did move it to a t5 tank for a while and it changed back. I kind of liked the bright tips so I left it under the leds. It was always healthy looking and eating so I didn't worry about it. I sold or traded it a few months ago.

Still colorful just white tips in random spots.
