Carpet Nem stacking

I have had my green carpet for a while now, its doing great, especially after adding a nem crab to it.
Can carpets be kept next to each other, like sitting on top of each other?
My green carpet pretty much stays put, only time it will move is if i have my frag basket over it blocking the light, otherwise it stays in its spot!
Was thinking of getting another color and placing it directly next to the green one, touching.
