Not as hard as I thought! Just made one for my biocube. Granted mine has the net center. But solid would be even easier and Lowe’s actually cuts it for you for free. They can get you to any square size you want and than they make plexiglass jigsaw blades for the rest. I used some 100 grit wet sandpaper to smooth the edges out. Far from perfect but it’s super functional and didn’t cost an arm and leg nor did I have to wait a month for it.

Yeah nice, I’m just making a design now and can get it laser cut to how I make it here.

FYI Plexiglass should not be used

Polycarbonate is what you want

Yeah going for 10mm polycarbonate (4mm rim, 6mm centre)

Something like this should do the trick! Will get it sent off to the plastic people tomorrow.

Still get plenty of air exchange through the holes and got all cutouts for lights and accessories.

Was thinking about that but I think I’ll just use the small slot at the front for that and maintenance I usually take the whole thing off anyway.

Mousetraps work great. Don't try to catch the cat. Set the trap and throw it at the cat and it will snap and scare the crap out of it. Now that it is afraid of traps you just set a couple on top of the tank amd it will stay off. The traps don't even have to be set. I've used this method on dogs and cats along with kids and it works. I used to set a couple on the couch when we went away to keep the animals off.

Well that sucks. I’ll keep an eye on it. So far it’s been good but it hasn’t been on there for long. You think it’ll get that warm even with the open center?

Nah yours is netting in the middle so I doubt it would be that bad as it’s pretty well supported on the outsides

Bit of an unusual one, but, one of my cats has realised it can jump up onto the net and play around and splash water everywhere and all over the glass/light. Which is very frustrating to have to clean everyday.

Has anyone had this issue before?

Looking at potentially changing the net lid to maybe like an egg crate style but not sure how this goes with letting light through and aesthetic wise

Any help is appreciated!
