Caulerpa alternatives?

I love macroalgae, and have been keeping them for a while now. However I am currently located in California where all species in the genus Caulerpa are banned to own/posess. Many macroalgae tanks use Caulerpa to add shape & form to their aquascape. Since Caulerpa is such a large genus with such a variety of species, it is a bit difficult to find alternative macroalgaes that can fulfill a similar role in the aquascape. Currently I'm searching for macroalgae species legal in California that look similar to caulerpa. The "wide green leaf" look is hard to find outside of that genus.

I want to hear suggestions for alternative macroalgae species that mimic the look of the following Caulerpa species:
Caulerpa lentillifera
Caulerpa paspaloides
Caulerpa prolifera
Caulerpa sertularoides
Caulerpa taxifolia

I think you are correct that only caulerpa grows like caulerpa.

The only other thing that isn’t hair algae are the

Don't think it's not available in California, as it has a tendancy to appear from live rocks, years after it was last growing, (unpublished) and I have seen it many times here in various LFS. If you do find some, please don't allow any of that danged weed to have any access to our ocean, and if it grows on your rocks you must ensure that they are disposed into the landfill when /if you break down the tank. And any water change water needs to go into the sanitary sewer so it gets digested along the way.

I haven't seen any recently, but it's only a matter of time, if you seek you will find it. Maybe in Signal Hill? My mind has been fading but I think I saw it there last?

Thanks! That one looks awesome, but it isn't green . It is a stunning piece however. Can I ask where you got it?

Try Bortacladia or Gracilaria Hayi.

After tangs were removed in 75G display, I added Caulerpa Parvispora and red macro algae. Note some deterioration on frond ends of C. Parvispora. This tank is 30 years mature and corals are the biofilter requiring ammonia dosing before adding seaweed.
