I bought mine from Boston Aqua Farms. You can buy them in bulk straight from the company.

Ceramic ones do not need to be cured i.e. (running them thru water for several weeks before use). For reef addicts like us we need to have ones available at the drop of a dime.

Wow that seems crazy...
I don't have a kiln and that is what the pottery is charging... but the clay is cheap and I save on the shipping cost.... I've made 100 so far and taking in the size of the block of clay I have it looks like I have enough to make another 1,000,000,000,000,000 give or take 1000  the clay was about $13

IMO, i like the BAF agrecrate ones better than the ceramic ones. i've never had to pre-cure them since they are already supposed to be curred, and never had any pH or alk issues with putting some in my tank (granted, i've never put in more than 5-10/day).

i dont like the ceramic ones, b/c if you ever decide to get a small frag, off of the frag plug, they are very difficult to cut without a dremel.

i've never had a problem with the BAF ones falling apart on their own, and they dont take much force to chip away when i want to re-mount something somewhere, or take a small frag off the frag plug.

Good point Al. I just got the ceramic ones from someone on ebay and so far I like them. Since I haven't had to frag anything off of them I'm not sure how difficult this could get, like Al said.
