Nice...
What's his chaeto growth like?
I'm having low pH issues.. My tank is basically in a basement with no windows so can't get much fresh air in there..
Hoping to grow some chaeto on a reverse light cycle on the hope of boosting pH

And if this doesn't work then I'm have to go with a co2 scrubber

I use my fuge to control my PH. I have a Kessil h80 that runs on a reverse cycle from the tank. It helps stabilize ph between day and night but it was still lower than I like.

I added a second led grow light panel I got from ebay and have it shining into the side of my sump

This light is controlled by my apex and turns on if my ph drops below 8.05 and turns off when it gets over 8.10. You can see an up and down cycle to my ph as a result. The only drawback is I struggle to keep nutrients up so I have to dose PO4 and no3.

Since having this light it boosted his growth massively. So much that is PO3 was undetectable. Not sure what he did to sort that out, I think he reduced the light cycle.

Yeah mine was dropping to around 7.8-7.9 before I added the second light. When I just turned the second light on full time it shot my PH up to around 8.25 but it quickly depleted all nutrients in the tank and the ph then dropped and it would raise and lower as I fed the tank and added nutrients. This is why I decided to use a lower range and my apex to control it. I keep my ph higher but don't burn through nutrients too quickly.

Kessil H380 is outside of your budget, but it's compact and grows my chaeto like crazy.
