ok I picked up a red chalice that had fallen onto another coral (dark blue w/green acan) it killed about 1/2"-3/4" around the edge. the chalice has healed very well and now one of the eyes on the edge where it was damaged grew back with some black streaks!!

should I frag the one eye or will the color spread to the rest of the chalice?

My guess would be that the color will disappear in time and it will revert back to the original red, but I'm not sure. I'm guessing that the color change is due to hypermelanization, similar to that seen in clownfish that develop black spots as they host various corals.
