Hi!

I came here just to share with you guys the latest addition to my chalice collection, a rare one I would say: an echinomorpha. I think this is the same variation that showed up a few years ago on the reefbuilders website (https://reefbuilders.com/2017/02/22/echinomorpha-like-youve-never-seen-it-before/). It is a wild colony, and it had a long journey... It came a bit pale, but I think it has recovered well. As usual within the genus, I have only spotted on big mouth at the center. The pattern is a cool one, and it has some strong coloration.

That looks more like an Echinophyllia (cf tarae) or Oxypora with a central corallite, not an Echinomorpha. Most of what Jake called Echinomorpha are misidentified. True Echinomorpha have a more Acanthastrea-like texture to their flesh and sometimes septal beading:

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
