Has anyone else given up on chasing the "preferred" levels within your tank? When I first started my tank, I was testing my parameters everyday to every other day. I was stressing and calling my veteran reefing buddy (the evil or great one depending on the day lol that convinced me to start) as well as a few LFSs trying to figure out how to lower my Nitrate, Nitrite, phosphate and Calcium levels. Literally doing WCs every week of 20-25 gal. And never seeming able to get the parameters down. My buddy one day said, "If your Coral and fish look good and are growing, then let it be. As long as the levels are acceptable and everything is happy, you'll be chasing your tail." Since then I test every other week unless I see something looking less than stellar. Has anyone else adopted this approach?
