So I was looking at acclimation box for sale because I am adding more tangs to a tank already stacked with tangs…
Long story short I came up with a very frugal method to accomplish what I believe most acclimation boxes do- separate fish while keeping water flow and visibility.
All you need is a clean/translucent basket (3 for $25 from amazon), styrofoam strips which I just cut out of boxes, and any methods to tie them together. The only caveat is it wont be fixed to a spot so if you have coral/rockwork that you dont want this to knock into, you’ll just have to clamp it to the tank side. Here is a video of them in action:
