I have Pocillopora spawning everywhere. Need to kill them and cover it up. Whats a reef safe cheap material i can use to cover rocks?

Some of these little tube putty / superglue gets expensive after awhile. a large tank to cover

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
