Duncan has been closed ever since I put this sps next to it. What sps is that? Is it causing the Duncan to close? Also wondering about my Hollywood stunner chalice which looks like it was killed by my frogspawn. Thoughts on the above?

I don't think sps like that can sting anything unless there pretty much touching.as far as the chalice the frogspawn possibly could be sending out sweepers at night stinging it.id like to hear what others think

SPSlooks like a stylophora to me and I don't think it's causing your Duncan to close up. The chalice looks like its getting killed by you frogspawn. The frogspawn can send out its tentacles fairly far, have you noticed if they can reach the chalice?

It comes real close but I don't think it touches it. Thanks for the ID on the SPS. Any chance the frogspawn is making the Duncan close too??

Frogspawn have very long feeder tentacles that can reach a long way. I would say it definitely killed your stunner. It may very well be keeping your duncans from opening too. What lights are you running and how high up do you have the duncans? They may do better down lower.

T5s- 4 ati. It's about halfway up the tank, 30 g tall. I Probably will move the Duncan. I assume I should remove the chalice and throw it away? Or move it and see if it comes back?? Thanks for everyone's input.

It looks like it may still have a little tissue on it. I'd move it down and in softer flow and see how it does. Feed it some Oyster Feast or Cyclopeez. I have chalices come back that were worse than yours. When it's completely dead, green algae will grow on it. I don't give up until that happens...lol
