Hi everyone!

I'm in the process of putting together an 80 gallon/300 liters tank. I plan to grow soft corals, and I'll be using a Chihiros WRGB II 120cm.

The individual leds for this light are customizable, so if I put the whites, red and green light to low levels, I can increase the blues higher. What do you think would be a good setting for the soft corals?

My initial idea was something like:

140% blue
10% white
10% green
5% red

Sounds good? Or should I use different values?

thanks.

Most reefer's run there blues much higher than white, green, red for color of the corals and growth. I would suggest to, start with 100% on the blue to see how your system reacts.

Hmmm Chihiros are generally just RGB w/ no white.
Also I'm not aware they can "overdrive" channels

Is a chihiros WRGB2 120cm. It let me customize blue, white, red and green values in the app. The other Chihiros 60cm that I have only let me customize RGB.
About the overdrive, no idea how it works, but it only let me put the blue over 100% if the other colors are low.

is it the pro version, because that's new to me as well, I have one on a planted tank. i've never been able to control the white channel, or overdrive the rgb

I think is the normal one. Maybe you have the slim one? or an older version?

Nice, can you get good color with it? I’m thinking about doing the same thing.
Yeah, just the blue only looks pretty strong. I plan to have something like 3 hours of just blue, then 6 hours of blue with a bit of white, red and green, and then another couple hours of just blue. Should be more than enough to maintain some easy corals.

I have the WRGB2 and I don't think you can go beyond 100% or control any white light. It is red/green/blue only as far as I am aware.

Not sure if the blue will be particularly strong even at 100%.
