Why is the tank 87?

I do think a 1/15 hp chiller will do it for you

I run a single fan and it lowered my temps from 83 back to 76.2 (my heater turns on at 76)

i think if this is your only way, you need one at least a little bigger than that, I think 1/15hp will struggle to get you below 80, unless ambient temperature is lower

A fan or two might prove enough to make it work though

See the Teco TK150 and the Hailea 150.
If you’re in the US, there are a few other brands I’m not familiar with.

Why is the tank 87?
Some of us live in hot climates, fans aren’t always keeping up with it, they make noise and increase evaporation.

i have a 30 gal and I will be getting a 1/10 once it gets hotter that should lower it enough like you want

Run a 1/15 on my RS170 at 63 degrees. the couple weeks when it does get warm in the house +80 it will cool it down to 67 degrees. So I would imagine your good. But also how long is your high temp. You do not want your chiller running all the time.

I also have a 1/15 on my 40g (50g total) in the hot part of fall, it turns on for an hour or so about 3 or 4 o'clock. But I live on the coast so it is cooler here, avg..
