Chiller in attic?

I was wondering if anyone has ever put a chiller up in the attic. My tank is going in my bedroom. On my old tank the chiller ran so much and heat up my room too much! I've had my bedroom be 82+ degrees while the rest of my house was 74. And that was with the door open. I would like some opinions on putting it up in the attic. Only problem I foresee is that during summer time in south Florida my attic probably gets to be 110 plus degrees.

Would it be difficult to get to the chiller? What if it springs a leak? What pump were you thinking of using, pumping water straight up 10 feet will take some power.

I don't see why it couldn't be done, just need to make sure you have all your bases covered first, dont just want to throw it in your attic and have issues, but Florida heat would take a toll on the chiller if it was in the attic

ends up it looks like were going to put it on the side of the house. We'll have to build a little "doghouse" for it thats vented. I've been trying to find some threads with one like that, but can't find any.

Good call with the chiller outside. I have worked on systems rigged that way and it seemed to work out pretty well. Only issue I have seen is that in the winter, the water lines can freeze around here (Pacific NW). Other than that... it overcomes the vertical head and interior heating issues marvelously. :bigsmile:

ive seen it done using the small rubbermaid storage sheds, as far as venting it you should try to get a fan on it to help it keep cool
