Is this what the mouth of my clam is supposed to look like? Or is that too much of a gape?

That derasa looks fine. The incurrent siphon is just taking in water like normal. An open incurrent siphon is often confused with gaping. Gaping is when the mantle is retracting into the shell while the shell is overly open. Keep an eye for some new shell growth under the mantle on the upper margin of the shell, that will let you know your clam is healthy and growing.

Looks fine.

Clams will go through cycles. Sometimes they’ll close up their inlets, sometimes not.
