This extraordinary fish combines two beautiful Eastern Pacific angelfish species, the Clarion Angelfish and Passer Angelfish. Passer Angelfish, or King Angelfish, are known for their beauty and personality. Clarion Angelfish with their rarity and intense coloration are a true "Holy Grail" fish, but the hybrid is even more rare and unique.
Historically, this hybrid was occasionally collected in the wild along the Pacific coast of Mexico where the ranges of the two parent species overlap. Today, with collection of Clarion Angelfish highly restricted, seeing one of these hybrids in the aquarium hobby is an exceptionally rare occurrence.
This captive bred hybrid combines some of the most striking characteristics of both parents. Clarion influence contributes those beautiful golden orange tones, while the Passer influence brings intense blues, darker coloration, and that characteristic vertical bar.
Rare fish are always exciting, but captive breeding gives us opportunities to see animals that have become extraordinarily difficult to obtain from the wild.
These ones are spoken for, but if you are interested, it may be possible to special order one for you in the future. Reach out to us at [email protected] if you would like a chance at one of these Holy Grail Clarion x Passer Hybrid Angelfish.
