Can anyone help me on what might be taking out my snails and crab!. I have had to replace my turbo snails and crabs twice over the last few months. For fish I only have a couple of wrasse, 2x clown, scopas tang and mandarin. I also have a banded coral shrimp (of which I need advice on catching as has to go), and a serpent star. I’m really not sure what’s doing it. Help and advice would be grateful.
Clean up crew disappearing!

Nobody ever suggests it could be magic. What kind of wrasses do you have? Some wrasses often have a fever and the only cure is more clean up crew. I’ve heard of coral banded shrimp attacking fish. Not sure if inverts are safe. The above mentions they could have starved. That’s possible as well. How old is the tank?
My tank is 3years old and never had this problem, always feed every other day. The wrasse I have are lighting wrasse, purple Dotty back. For some reason I’ve got it in my head that it’s the banded shrimp causing the problem. Either way I want to get him out as he killed my cleaner shrimp. I just can’t catch the bugger!
I’ve never had a lightning wrasse, but all of the halichores wrasse are questionable when it comes to being reef safe. Some worse than others. My old melanurus wrasse didn’t attack the existing clean up crew I had, but new additions were picked at as soon as they were added to the tank. If the tank has adequate food for the cuc and the water parameters are good, it’s likely to be one of the tank inhabitants. Where is your rock from? My cuc is mostly gone because of all the gorilla crabs I had. I rarely saw them. Sneaky buggers. They’re all gone now. The one remaining snail is living in paradise. More food than it can handle.
