I have a 180 gallon tank with 3 small fish -

1 diamond watchman goby
1 blue tang
1 tomini tang

Current CUC -
~7 hermits
~3 nessaruis snails
1 emerald crab

And a few assorted small corals pulled out of my 32 gallon tank - devils hand, duncan, candy cane, hammer, ...

I'm going to order a package from @reefcleaners - not sure which to get! I'm looking at diverse crews (should I pick something else?). I don't think I have enough in my tank to keep the 180 gallon crew happy - thinking of purchasing a 90 gallon crew to start?

This tank was started ~4 weeks ago with 90# aged live rock from LFS and ~ 35# rock from my 5 year old 32 gallon biocube. All of the rock has algae and the rock from the previous tank has some sections of thickish GHA.

I truly appreciate some suggestions - the back wall is getting dirty/hairy but I also don't want the little critters to starve!!!

Thanks!

This is what I do. I think their full crews are overkill but they do give you very small snails so it is less then it seems

Hermit crabs work best for me

I suggest a few large snails. Mexican turbos being my favorite

I ordered larger than I should have starting off. Love @reefcleaners Had a couple losses and still feed a sheet of nori to each tank daily. I would start small and add as needed. In my own experience, feeding inverts helps. Ceriths, Nassarius seem to be best in the sand.

I think I'll go with this ?!? -

I keep adding a sheet of nori for the tangs -- they won't touch it! I just throw it out at the end of the day! Thanks for the input, hopefully if the CUC needs extra food they will get on the NORI!!!!

That looks like a good start👍. Although they don't really clean anything, i had also ordered the coral banded shrimp, they eat bristleworms. It's cool to watch them catch em. Those really need fed too. They'll eat anything that falls food wise

Did you ask Reefcleaners to work up a suggestion for you? There is a form you can fill out and they'll get back to you quickly. IMO, that's the best way to go.

I probably should have done that - but just placed the order! Ordered MUCH under the 180 crew, so hopefully good!

You could also in the future get a tuxedo urchin, those are great cuc!

Just added some inverts a few weeks ago I have no idea why I waited so long now. My favourite out of them all is the Trochus snails they are voracious, and against what I have read they do go after the hair algae

Watching our camouflaged tuxedo hammer thru the rocks leaving white trails in its wake is enjoyable. Its always covered in bits of shells

I'm getting dizzy looking at all the profile pics spinning - but when I see this everything in the world is right side up again! Excited for crabs and snails!!
