For what it’s worth I’ve had cleaner shrimps for years and never even thought of iodine levels. They seam to have an 4/5 year life span from my experience. always thought more about calcium levels for shell rebuilding. Unfortunately sometimes we loose our friends and don’t know the reason.

Ok thats at least a relief. So gray patches are normal before they molt? Sorry to ask so much, I just wanna know for the future
Nope, molt is basically an empty shell...
Just like you removing a jacket in summer... When your hot.
You take jacket off and put it aside.

The jacket you removed is a shell of your former self lol

Your pictures provided are of a dead shrimp with eyes attached. A molt is generally half bodied.

Update: It was an empty shell! But I can't see him anywhere. Is it possible my hermits ate him or are they just really good at hiding?
Cleaner Shrimp typically hide and are very timid after a molt as they are more vulnerable. Just make sure there are no large parameter shifts for 1-2 weeks after they molt.

Every my cleaner shrimp molts I get shocked cause I think it's dead. Very real looking haha!

Oh, I did not see the eyes. Yes, I regret to say that is not a molt. I am very sorry...
