Cleaner shrimp disease?

My skunk cleaner shrimp is having some weird coloration. I had a second skunk added recently and it disappeared. I added two more peppermint shrimp recently for aiptasia control, now I’m concerned about them as well

What’s going on? Is it a parasite? A virus? I have a UV sterlizer running 24/7

I havent seen a pattern like this but have seen similar and this happens right before a molt. After the molt, its gone

I’ve been hearing similar responses from others about it being related to molting, then it’s gone after.

I did some digging on older forums and some people speak of Taura virus syndrome. Which I think is the same thing as “black spot syndrome”? But these aren’t spots, almost like a dark coloration following organ lines in the body

Ive seen spots as I mentioned not this pattern but believe molt related. Also assuure calcium level not low and nitrate not elevated

Are you saying those parameters could cause issues specifically to the shrimp or cause this discoloration?

cause issues with needs for shell health while high nitrates can impact overall health.

Read about Black Gill Syndrome. You probably need to do a water change and you might want to put an aerator in there. That dark pigment occurs from the melanization of the dying tissue. If it keeps up the shrimp won’t be able to breathe and will slowly die.
